Paul Goundrey - Grafton County District 6
I am a New Hampshire native raised and educated in Salem and a proud alumnus of the Thompson School of UNH. I have been married to Althea for 50 years and we have lived in Orford for over 45 years, where we raised our 2 children. My parents taught me the value of public service, as they were the driving force that established the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem. As a resident of Orford, I have been a Selectboard member for 20 years, with several terms as Chair. I am the current Chair of the Orford Planning Board, a founding Board Member and Vice Chair of Upper Valley Ambulance, Chair of the Orford High School Study Committee, and— most enjoyably—a T-ball Little League coach. Before retirement, I was Supervisor of Grounds and Vehicles at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. My Interests range from gardening, biking, hiking, exploring the woods, skiing, and volunteering for the Mt. Washington Observatory.
I am running to be your Representative to restore this state to the “New Hampshire Way.” To me, that means working to protect the people and environment of this state with innovative ideas and solutions. Both sides of the aisle need to come together, to include people and groups with diverse perspectives to accomplish shared goals—goals that include a strong educational system, lower property taxes, affordable health care, affordable homes, and common decency.
